In February 2024, my friend from undergrad and I approached the 50 year old Atlanta Rugby Club and asked if they would be open to having a women’s side as well as a men’s. They said yes. Fast forward to the summer of 2025 and we have a full 7s team and upcoming 15s women’s side.

I currently sit as Social Media and Communications Chair and serve as the women’s recruiter.

Women’s Recruitment Video

This recruiting video was made while the team practiced in below freezing temperatures. Recruiting is a key part keeping women’s rugby alive. (this video was filmed vertically intentionally for short form phone viewing)

Women’s Side Origin Video

This video was created to showcase how our the women’s side came to be from Mychal Glover’s perspective using real photos from our out team’s idea phase to present day. This story is dear to the club because women’s sports, most certainly rugby, have always been from grassroots like origins. This club started as three girls showing up to practice with all men for a summer and has been able to transform to a rostered and ready rugby team. This video intends to highlight who founded the team, where we came from, and who we want to be as we continue to pursue growing the game of women’s rugby right here in Atlanta.

Women’s Side Short Form Content

This short form style video was taken to catch attention on video media platforms such as TikTok and Instagram! The video catches action with recognizable music to draw in viewers. This video was also intentionally shot vertically for mobile viewing.
